Victims of the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting can apply for compensation. The deadline is July 28, 2026.

There is a Family Assistance Center to help Gilroy shooting victims. It’s run by:

Victims of the 2018 Camp Fire in Butte County may be eligible for reimbursement. This is due to the criminal indictment of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) for causing the fire. Victims have until November 25, 2025 to apply for compensation.

Who is eligible

Eligible victims include those who:

• Were physically present during the fire
• Were injured or threatened with injury
• Suffered the death of a loved one as a direct result of the fire

PG&E settlement

On January 29, 2019, PG&E filed a Chapter 11 case in bankruptcy court. As part of that case, PG&E established a $13.5 billion trust. This trust compensates victims of the 2018 Camp Fire and certain other wildfires.

Victims should apply for compensation to this trust before applying with CalVCB.

Victims of the Borderline Bar & Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks may qualify for compensation. Their family members may also apply if affected. The deadline to apply is November 7, 2025.
