January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month. In 2023, over 30,000 human trafficking cases were reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline. Of those cases, California had the most, with more than 3,000 cases. The California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB) offers financial support for human trafficking victims including compensation for income loss, medical, dental and mental health treatment, relocation, residential security and more.
Please use and share our CalVCB Human Trafficking Prevention Month toolkit to help us raise awareness about human trafficking and the services available to victims.
